The filmmaker has launched the new series under the banner Rajshree Productions. After ‘Woh Apna Sa’ and ‘Bin Kuch Kahe’, ‘Piya Albela’ is the latest offering by the production house.
The new series is about the modern way of narrating the Vishwamitra and Maneka’s love story. The new show was unveiled with a teaser launch held in Mumbai. The teaser of the TV show has managed to build ample interest among the viewers without revealing too much. The story goes like Maneka seduced Vishwamitra to break his meditation and on this concept, it would be interesting to see the modern version of the story.
Reports say that the filmmaker was working on the series for about eight years and is happy to be associated with Zee TV. Sooraj at the launch event said, “It is a project which is very close to my heart as I have been working on it for the last 8 years to develop it for a TV show. Persistence and belief in the story has made it a reality today. Retelling an ancient story in a modern context adds richness to the human drama across the ages”. The promo of the show will be aired on February 6, 2017.
Barjatya is known for narrating stories in a grand and a unique way. His movies have always been a treat for the eyes and based on family values and traditions. Marathi actor Akshay Mhatre will be seen playing the lead role, while Sheen Das of ‘Yeh Hai Aashiqui’ fame will be seen playing the female lead.
