Bollywood Garam: Sanjay Suri and Onir’s much awaited film ‘I Am’ is set to release on 29th April 2011 after receiving accolades from film festivals all over the world. The release date was postponed from 22nd April to 29th April, as the producers of the movie wanted it to release on the last week of April.
‘I Am’ had received the David Flint Honorary Award for Promoting Human Rights and also received the Best in Asian Cinema award at the International Film Festival in Kerala. The movie also bagged the Best Film in River to River Film Festival, Florence 2010.
In September 2010, ‘I Am’ was the opening film at the IVIEW Engendered Film Festival in New York. The movie contains four stories joined together. As the title suggests, the movie tells the story of individuals in search of their identity.
‘I Am’ basically talks about the usual issues that are raised in the modern society. The cast of the movie includes Sanjay Suri, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, Rahul Bose, Nandita Das, Abhimanyu Singh, Purab Kohli. The movie will also introduce the directors Anurag Kashyap and Anurag Basu as actors. The surprising part is that the movie is co-produced by more than 400 people from around the world.
