Sarah Jane Dias on the ramp
Day 3 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 saw actress Sarah Jane Dias walk the ramp at the #TagFree show by stylist Kshitij Kankaria in Mumbai on February 2, 2017. The show by Kankaria aimed to depict diversity in terms of beauty beyond appearance.
The bold designs made sure that the stereo type of restricting one’s self in certain shape and size was totally broken. Another interesting fact about the show was that it brought together women from all walks of life who are labeled and stereotyped by the society.
This season the Dharavi project is the highlight and the event will look in to the possibilities of design innovation in the area where several artisans who have serviced the fashion industry for several years. Moreover, transgender model Anjali Lama from Nepal has been selected as one of the winners of the model auditions to walk for the season. The season also has a gender neutral model Petr Nitka from Czech Republic who has walked many international runways. Janvi Deori, one of the winners of the model auditions and Nepalese model Varsha Thapa will continue to be a part of the models this season.
