Mahira Khan joins Raees success press event from Pakistan

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan joined the rest of the ‘Raees’ team to celebrate the worldwide success of the movie. The actress wasn’t physically present, but joined the team through video conferencing in Mumbai on February 4, 2017. Post Uri attacks, there was a lot of distress between the two countries, due to which the makers decided to keep Mahira away from the promotions.

However, the actress promoted ‘Raees’ in Dubai. This was the first time, the actress joined the media interaction from the neighboring country. Mahira while talking about the response she got for the film said, “I got wonderful response for the film and people really liked my character. Each scene of mine with Shah Rukh and songs are well appreciated”.

The actress also talked about her experience of working with Shahrukh Khan and said that she was initially nervous but, the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actor made her feel comfortable. Shahrukh too expressed that he had a great time shooting with Mahira, Nawaaz and Zeeshan and was all praises for his co-stars. Sidhwani too interacted with the media and cracked jokes.
Mahira while concluding said that the movie will soon be concluding in Pakistan and that people there are longing to watch the movie. It was a good way to include Mahira in the promotions. The movie is directed by Rahul Dholakia and hit the theatres on January 25, 2017. ‘Raees’ is jointly produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Gauri Khan under the banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment.

Thought Raees clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, both movie have done great at the box office, with Raees crossing the 100 crore earning mark.
