Shoojit Sircar bask in glory with comedy flick ‘Running Shaadi’

Celebrities from Bollywood attended the special screening of the movie ‘Running Shaadi’ held in Mumbai on February 15, 2017. ‘Running Shaadi’ has Amit Sadh and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles and is all set to hit the theatres on February 17, 2017.

The screening event saw Ayushmann Khurrana, R. Balki, R. Madhavan, Gauri Shinde, Evelyn Sharma, Angad Bedi, Nora Fatehi, Sunny Kaushal, Jackky Bhagnani, Dino Morea, Saqib Salim and Tigmanshu Dhulia.

The upcoming romantic comedy is produced by Shoojit Sircar and narrates the unique concept of an online wedding portal that brings couples together and helps them to get married. Amit will be seen playing the role of Ram Bharose, who is a young tenth fail lad and used to work at Singh ‘n’ Singh bridals. Bharose is close to the owner of the shop and also becomes a trustable person to the owner’s daughter Nimmi played by Taapsee.

Amit’s character is illiterate but is smart and also business-minded. Nimmi is a loud, outspoken, Punjabi girl who loves to live her life on her own terms. Taapsee’s character constantly asks Bharose for help as she finds him dependable. The movie also stars Arsh Bajwa who plays the role of Cyberjeet and has frequent fights with Nimmi.

Talking about the music of the movie, Shoojit’s films have always been popular for its music and has always received commercial success. Sircar’s movie ‘Vicky Donor’ did not score well at the box office but the music became popular. Even the music for the movies ‘Piku’ and ‘Madras Café’ stood out. ‘Running Shaadi’ music has been composed by Anupam Roy, Abhishek-Akshay and Zeb and the songs have been sung by the singers like Bappi Lahiri, Labh Janjua and Papon.
