Shawar Ali and wife Marcela walk the ramp for the designers
Designers Riyaz and Reshma Gangji showed off their Summer Wedding Collection at the Ultra Derby at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on February 15, 2017. The summer collection had designs with pastel colors and delicate embroideries.
There were western cuts for gowns and blouses with innovative colors and embroideries that were done on simple traditional cuts. The atmosphere of the ramp was made like that of a sangeet function with lights and fun. Miss Globe Dimple Patel opened the show while supermodel Shawar Ali and wife Marcela turned showstoppers for the designers.
The event also saw the presence of Libas chairman Nishant Mahimpura and Vasant Bhandari. Designer Riyaz started off his journey as a designer with wife Reshma. The designer in an earlier interview said that his beginning in the world of fashion wasn’t easy and was filled with struggles. Riyaz shared that it was tough to convince people the potential of their work and carried on with customer satisfaction as their priority.
The designer also shared that designer Ritu Kumar is his inspiration and that she is more of a corporate house rather than a designer for him.
Marcela was dressed in a red and gold lehenga with gold and ruby jewellery. Shawar in the meantime donned on a traditional Indian wear in gold and pastel pink, with a moti necklace and sunglasses. The couple looked perfect together as they walked the ramp.
