Akshay Kumar landed in Delhi for promotions of his upcoming film Padman. The actor not just promoted his film but also spread awareness about sanitary napkins and menstrual hygiene across the colleges in the capital. The Khiladi star also flagged off the Women Marathon for making sanitary pads tax-free.
Akshay during the event looked great in a black track pant, t-shirt and a green zipper jacket. A couple of days back co-star Sonam Kapoor was also seen promoting the film in Mumbai and also distributed free sanitary pads to young girls in school.
The upcoming film is a biopic based on the life of the national hero Arunachalam Muruganantham, who made a machine that made low-cost sanitary pads for women in the rural areas, who could not afford expensive sanitary pads. The film is helmed by R Balki and also stars Radhika Apte.
The makers recently postponed the release date from January 25, 2018 to February 9, 2018 to pave way for a solo release for the film Padmaavat.
