Indian actor writer and director Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66 in Gurugram on March 9, 2023. The actor reportedly suffered a heart attack. After a post mortem is conducted, the mortal remains of the director will be taken to Mumbai, where the funeral will be conducted. The heartbreaking news was announced by Anupam Kher, who is a close associate and best friend of Kaushik.
Satish was visiting his friend at Gurugram when he complained of uneasiness. The actor then asked his driver to take him to the hospital. However, the director suffered a heart attack on the way and could not be saved. The mortal remains of Kaushik have been brought to the Fortis Hospital in Gurugram and will be brought to Mumbai on Thursday afternoon after the postmortem formalities have been completed.
As soon as the news spread, condolences started to pour in from fans, well-wishers and friends of the actor. Satish Kaushik played multiple roles in the film industry and proved his worth as a screenwriter, producer, comedian and director apart from being the alumnus of National School of Drama and Film. He started off his career from theatre and has worked in more than a 100 films in his career span.
Some of his memorable films include Mr. India, Brick Lane, Deewana Mastana, Saajan Chale Sasural and many others. He has also directed some of the noteworthy films like Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Prem, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Tere Naam and others. Celebrities like Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kangana Ranaut, Sharad Kelkar and others condoled the death of the actor. Satish Kaushik celebrated the festival of Holi in Mumbai on March 7 at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Holi celebration. Soon after, he left for Delhi as the festival was celebrated on March 8 in Delhi. Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi and daughter Vanshika who is 11 years old.
