Anshuman Jha turns producer for Mona Darling
While filmmakers in Bollywood promote their movies to increase its popularity among the audience, makers of the upcoming movie ‘Mona Darling’ started off an anti-promotional campaign. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt shot for an anti-promotional video for the movie in which he stated five reasons ‘not to watch’ the movie along with the lead actor and producer Anshuman Jha.
Bhatt in his video mentioned that he had done a similar campaign for his movie ‘Sadak’ back in the year 1991. The filmmaker had then appealed people not to watch the movie if they do not have the stomach to watch it. Actor Anshuman, of ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’ fame, has donned the hat of the producer as well as the lead actor.
Jha had approached Bhatt with the trailer and shared the idea of the anti-promotional campaign. Bhatt was impressed and appealed to the people to watch the movie which has real actors, has no item songs, has no dancing around the trees and just has a great story. The filmmaker in his anti-promotional video also revealed that the movie is India’s first social media thriller. Anushman during the press event said that filmmaker Bhatt is an inspiration for him.
The upcoming horror-thriller movie is written and directed by Shashi Sudigala and is produced by First Ray Films. The movie also stars Divya Menon, Suzanna Mukherjee and Sanjay Suri. Makers of the movie released the trailer recently and was appreciated for its confined locations and young characters. The trailer has also indicated about the young generation’s obsession with social network. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on February 24, 2017, the day which will also see the release of Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Rangoon’.
