Authors Sanjay Chopra and Namita Roy Ghose’s book ‘The Wrong Turn’ launched
Indian actress Vidya Balan launched the book ‘The Wrong Turn’ by authors Sanjay Chopra and Namita Roy Ghose at an event in Mumbai on February 28, 2017. The ‘Parineeta’ actress looked pretty in a pink and white sari and was all smiles for the shutterbugs. The book launch also saw the presence of Rajat Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Maria Goretti and Ranveer Shorey.
Vidya, at the launch event expressed, “I am very excited to be here. I used to read a lot of books before, but now I have become an ‘unpad’. This book is specially very gripping because the history surrounding it is true. I am always interested to know what happened in the lives of people when various historical events occurred.” The actress added that people still love to read books and that there are some who read on Kindle but prefer the touch and feel of a book.
Balan was away from movies for a while since she got married to producer Siddharth Roy Kapur. But the actress returned to movies in 2016 with ‘Kahaani – Durga Rani Singh’ after a gap of three years. Vidya is also looking forward for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Begum Jaan’ which is all set to hit theatres on April 14, 2017. The movie is produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt and is directed by Srijit Mukherjee.
Mukherjee is a National Award winning Bengali director, who will be making his directorial debut in Bollywood. The ‘Paa’ actress will be seen playing the role of the lady of a brothel. The movie also stars Rajat Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Gauhar Khan, Ila Arun, Pallavi Sharda, Chunky Pandey and Ashish Vidyarthi. Vidya will also be seen in the upcoming movie ‘Tumhari Sulu’ , in which she will be seen playing the role of a radio jockey.
