Soni Razdan to star in television serial Utre Na Rang Mahi after 11 years break!
Bollywood film director Soni Razdan is set to make her television comeback after a long 11 year break. Razdan is reportedly signed on to play the role of Rajmata Rajeshwari Singh Ranawat in a show titled Utre Na Rang Mahi. Although Soni has been famous for her roles in TV shows Buniyaad and Junoon, but is nowadays better known as Alia Bhatt’s mother.

Reports state that Razdan was not too keen for the role, but since her directorial project Love Affair was delayed, she took up the offer. The actress seems to be happy to return to the silver screen and even Tweeted “Fun times again” when referring to her comeback.

Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the show, Utre Na Rang Mahi is tentatively set to go on air later this year. Talking to leading daily Mumbai Mirror, the director – actor said, “There’s nothing of a royal lady in me in real life. You see me mostly in jeans and tees. When Siddharth called, I wasn’t interested in television as it’s a lot of hard work. But the subject piqued my curiosity and since my next directorial, Love Affair, has been delayed, I took up the offer.”
