Photos: Bollywood celebrities pay homage to Vinod Khanna at 4th day prayer meeting

Veteran Bollywood star Vinod Khanna breathed his last on April 27, 2017 at the age of 70. The actor lost his battle with cancer and has left behind his wife Kavita and four children Akshaye Khanna, Rahul Khanna, Sakshi Khanna and daughter Shraddha Khanna. Celebrities from Bollywood attended a prayer meet in remembrance of the late superstar held in Mumbai on May 3, 2017.

The prayer meet saw well-wishers and colleagues of the actor from the industry. Actors Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Rahul Khanna, Ritesh Sidhwani, Kiran Kumar, Arbaaz Khan, Suresh Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Poonam Sinha, Shakti Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Pancholi, Malaika Arora, Athiya Shetty and others were seen attending the prayer meet. The funeral ceremony of the star was attended by a huge crowd from Bollywood and was held at the Worli Hindu Crematorium on April 27, 2017. The funeral pyre was lit by Vinod Khanna’s son Sakshi.

The funeral ceremony also saw the presence of Khanna’s colleagues from the Bhartiya Janata Party. However, actor Rishi Kapoor expressed his disappointment over the absence of many of the actors from the new generation and added that they had time to attend Priyanka Chopra’s bash. The actor had then also clarified that his wife Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor could not make it to the funeral as they were out of the country.

Vinod Khanna started off in Bollywood doing small roles and mostly played negative characters opposite some of the most popular names in the industry. The Dabangg actor gradually started doing lead roles and became one of the most demanded and popular names in the industry.
