Indian badminton player PV Sindhu shot to public prominence when she became the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the Olympics in 2016. Her passion for the game inspired actor Sonu Sood to make a biopic on the ace shuttler. Sonu confirmed the news saying that the film is currently in the scripting stage and actors and the director are yet to be finalized. Badminton player Sindhu was seen having a casual chat with actor Sonu Sood in Mumbai on May 10, 2017.
PV Sindhu was seen in a sporty attire as she held her badminton racket while the Happy New Year actor was seen in a casual white shirt and a pair of denims. Going by the pictures, it surely indicates that Sonu is in talks with the player to know more about her journey with the game and her struggle.
Earlier reports had claimed that actress Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play the lead, but it was Sonu Sood who denied the news and said that nothing has been finalized except for the script. Sonu, in an earlier interview with a leading daily, was asked if he would act in the film, but the Dabangg star said that he would only be able to talk about it after the scripting has been completed. Sonu assured, “We have obtained the rights to do this biopic and Sindhu’s pretty excited about the film”.
The Shakti actor added that the story of the film is about a girl who has inspired millions of Indians and has conveyed a message that everyone can dream big by working hard.
