The 1997 film Border reminded the audience about the sacrifices made by the soldiers of our country during war. A reunion of the cast was called to celebrate 20 years of the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year, in Mumbai on June 11, 2017. Border was based on the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 and was produced and directed by J.P. Dutta. The reunion event saw the presence of Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Athiya Shetty, JP Dutta, Pooja Bhatt, Mana Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sudesh Berry, Randhir Kapoor and others.
Pooja, who was also a part of the cast of Border shared her favourite scene from the film on Twitter and wrote, “On the eve of #20yearsofborder my favourite scene from the film. Thank you J.P.Dutta.” Akshaye Khanna, who was also a part of the cast, gave a miss to the reunion. The entire team came together to celebrate the successful 20 years of the film. Suniel’s daughter Athiya looked stylish at the event in a pair of denim cullotes, a bralet and a printed shrug. Actress Pooja Bhatt, who played the role of Akshaye’s fiancé, appeared in a black outfit.
Filmmaker JP Dutta is ready with another war drama film, Paltan. The makers recently revealed the first look of the film, which will unveil another interesting part of Indian history. JP Dutta, through the film, intends to salute the unsung heroes of real life. The filmmaker had last directed the film Umrao Jaan which starred Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.
Paltan is ready to go on floors later in 2017 and will be released by summer 2018.
