Deepika Padukone confirmed for xXx 4 by director D J Caruso

Her Hollywood debut has proven to be fruitful for Deepika Padukone. The stunning actress starred in her first crossover film with xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage opposite action star Vin Diesel, OITNB actress Ruby Rose and Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev. The film was a success at the international box office, raking in more than $346 million, with a production budget of $85 million.

So, it was almost obvious that if there was a sequel to the hit action franchise, she would be a part of it. And that news was finally confirmed by director D J Caruso during a Twitter conversation with fans. When asked by a user if Deepika Padukone’s character, Serena Unger would be a part of xXx 4, the answer was almost instant from the director. D J Caruso replied with a resounding: “Oh yes”.

He further confirmed his statement by saying that the xXx 4 team would be coming together soon for an official meeting. “Yes meetings next week. Honing in on story and start dates”.

Meanwhile, the international star is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmavati. The star is said to have already shot for the climax scene that sees her performing the traditional practice of jauhar. Padmavati also stars Deepika’s beau, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. She has also made an appearance in the title track for romantic drama film, Raabta.

Deepika Padukone has been slaying professionally on the international stage. The star made her big red carpet debut at the Met Gala 2017, followed by an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2017 where she represented L’Oréal Paris as one of their brand ambassadors, alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor. She also made it to the Maxim 2017 Hot 100 List with fellow Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra.
