The upcoming ambitious Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavati might be surrounded with controversies but that has not prevented the makers from getting down to promotions. Deepika Padukone, who will be seen playing the role of Rani Padmavati, promoted the film at Fever FM in Mumbai on November 7, 2017.
The makers of the film recently released the song Ghoomar, which has already garnered a lot of attention and got millions of views on YouTube. Deepika promoted the film and was also seen dancing to the tunes of the song along with a few dancers at the radio station. The Bajirao Mastani actress looked gorgeous in a white maxi outfit and was seen enjoying with the dancers.
The video of the song saw Deepika perform a traditional Rajasthani folk dance in a gorgeous lehenga by designer Rimple Narula. The outfit weighed 30 kgs and costed a whopping Rs. 30 lakhs. Despite the weight of the outfit, Deepika effortlessly performed on the song which had 66 twirls in circles. The Piku actress learned the dance form known as Ghoomar from renowned experts, Jyothi D Tommaar and Kruti Mahesh Midya. The song is sung by Swaroop Khan and Shreya Ghoshal and the music has been composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The upcoming film also stars Shahid Kapoor as Maharana Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh who will be seen as Alauddin Khilji. Padmavati is due to be released in theatres on December 1, 2017.
