After enough speculations, the first posters of the official remake of the Marathi blockbuster film, Sairaat is out. The Remake has been named as Dhadak and features Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter and veteran actress Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor. The poster has shown a crackling chemistry between the young actors.
The upcoming film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan who talked about the creative aspect of the first look and said, “I think the idea behind the posters was to give the honest representation of the film we want to make and to do justice to it. It was also about giving sense to the character we are going to portray and that’s the basic intent we plan to do with the film. It’s a special film and right from the title, we wanted to be honest.”
The director also spoke about the title of the film and said, “Dhadak is a title, a word and quite relatable.” Shashank while talking about the cast said that he felt they were the right choice from the beginning and that he has always been excited to work with new faces. The upcoming film is a story about two youngsters who fall in love with each other but have to face a battle against the rigid cast system prevalent in the country. The film is due to be released in theatres on July 6, 2018.
The Marathi version of the film featured Rinku Rajguru, Akash Thosar, Tanaji Galgunde and others. Dhadak is produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta. Actress Jhanvi Kapoor has been working hard as she prepares for her upcoming film and is often snapped at the practice sessions outside her dance rehearsal hall. The song Zingaat from the film Sairaat, had become an instant hit among the youngsters. It will be interesting for the audience to see if Jhanvi and Ishaan manage to create the same spark on the silver screens.
