Shahid Kapoor has heaved a sigh of relief after his film Padmaavat has got a massive response from the box office. Now that Padmaavat has been successfully released, the actor is now free to concentrate on his upcoming films. The actor was snapped at the Mumbai airport on February 8, 2018. Shahid left for Uttarakhand to begin shoot for the upcoming film Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

Shahid won the hearts of the audience by playing the role of a fierce Rajput king Maharawal Ratan Singh opposite Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The actor’s chemistry with Deepika in the film was appreciated and applauded. Shahid in a recent interview revealed that it was his wife Mira, who encouraged, to take up the film while others asked him not to.

The Mausam actor said, “Mira has been the constant support throughout. It’s character in the film that needs a lot from as an actor. I was like the new entrant in the team which has already worked before. To the fact, the film had to deal with before it actually came out.” Shahid added that a lot was written about the flick even before it was being watched.

The film Padmaavat helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali hit the theatres on January 25, 2018.
