Akshay Kumar was last seen in the film Padman, which was based on the problem of menstrual hygiene among the women in the rural area. The film also starred Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor and made a good impact at the audience while spreading awareness about a social issue still prevalent in the country.
Akshay is currently preparing for his upcoming film Gold which is directed by Reema Kagti and also stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Mouni Roy. The story of the film is about the first Olympic Gold Medal that was won by India after independence in 1948. The film is expected to be released in theatres on August 15, 2018 which will mark the Independence day of India.
