A young delegation from Bollywood was invited for a delegation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on January 10, 2019. Some of the top and young Bollywood stars had come together to meet the Prime Minister for a discussion about various issues from the entertainment industry. The delegation included Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Rohit Shetty, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Ekta Kapoor, Aayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and Rajkummar Rao.
After a detailed discussion, the Prime Minister also posed for a selfie with the entire delegation. Mr. Narendra Modi had posted the selfie picture and wrote, “Had a good meeting with popular film personalities.” The entire delegation was seen in formals and ethnic wear for their meeting with the Prime Minister.
Reports say that the meeting with the Prime Minister had turned in to a very uplifting dialogue. There were also discussions about how the industry has always played an important role to build a better nation and a better society with the help of entertainment. The delegation also thanked the Prime Minister for the change in the GST and giving space to the industry to connect. Many other interesting ideas were discussed and the young members of the film industry also expressed about their excitement to contribute more with more energy for the country.
The Prime Minister called for the meeting at the time when three films based on the politics of the country will be releasing just before the 2019 general elections. All the celebrities were seen arriving together at the Delhi airport.
