Bollywood Garam: After entertaining the audience with a series of comedy flicks in the past few years, Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar is back with an action movie after a long time. The movie, Rowdy Rathod will have Prabhu Deva on the director’s seat and designer Shabina Khan, who would be donning the hat of a producer for the first time.
Khan said that she is very excited about the concept, more so due to the fact the they are bringing back Akshay in to the action genre. The designer-turned-producer said that Rowdy Rathod is a action thriller and a complete masala movie meant to be a pure commercial movie.
Surprisingly, the team also includes film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the making. Bhansali has said that the genre is a totally different one for him and it would be good for him to get out and experiment an action flick, instead of the usual horror/thriller flicks.
After the ‘Khilaadi’ series, for which he was famous back in the 90’s, Akshay will be retuning to the action genre. It would be interesting to see the reaction of the audience on such a movie.
At the same time, we cannot forget that actor Salman Khan is now also a big competitor in the film industry when it comes to action movies. Salman’s movie ‘Dabangg’ had created waves among the young audience just a few months ago, and is still fresh in people’s minds.
Bring on the action Akshay, it’s a been a while!
