Samantha Ruth Prabhu takes a break from acting


Indian actress Samantha Ruth was earlier diagnosed with an auto-immune disease known as Myositis. The actress has now said that she will be taking a break from work for about a year to focus on her health. Reports say that the actress will be travelling to the United States and South Korean to get herself treated. A team of medical experts are expected to treat Samantha for her illness.

The actress despite her illness has wrapped shooting for the TV series Citadel and has also shot for her portions in the films Kushi with actor Vijay Deverakonda. After wrapping up the pending work, Samantha is preparing to take a break from acting to focus on her health. The Yashoda actress has earlier too sought treatment in the United States and is expected to continue with it. Currently Samantha has stopped taking new projects till she wishes to get cured of her health problems.

The actress has not signed any new projects. Samantha disclosed about her condition in 2022 and revealed that she suffered from Myositis. Her revelation left many people shocked and worried. Samantha was last seen in the Telugu film Shaakuntalam in which she played the title role of Shakuntala. She is currently wrapping a couple of upcoming projects including Kushi and Chennai Story. Chennai Story is a bilingual film which will be released in English and Tamil and also stars Vivek Kalra. The actress made her debut with the Tamil movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in 2010.

On the personal front, the actress was married to Naga Chaitanya. The couple started dating after appearing in the film Ye Maaya Chesave and got engaged in January 2017. The two then got married as per Hindu and Christian rituals in the same year in October. However, things could not workout for long between the two and they announced separation in October 2021.
