The much awaited teaser of the film OMG 2 has been released. The social comedy drama has Akshay Kumar in the lead along with Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi. The teaser begins with a voice over by Pankaj Tripathi, where he talks about the existence of God depends on people’s belief or disbelief. This is when a footage from the previous installment is played. The voiceover then clarifies that God does not discriminate between the people that he has created.
The teaser has examples from the previous installment where there is a mention about Kanji Lalji Mehta played by Paresh Rawal, who was an aethist. Tripathi will be seen playing the role of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, who is an ardent believer, who goes through a tough time in his life. Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of God, who tries to help him. Akshay shared the news on his Instagram Account and wrote, “Rakh Vishwas (keep faith). OMG 2 Teaser out now.” He also revealed that the film is all set to be released on August 11, 2023.
The film is written and helmed by Amit Rai and is the sequel to the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God, which had Akshay and Paresh Rawal paying the lead role. The previous film had Paresh Rawal who was an atheist and had filed a case against God for destructing his shop in an earthquake. OMG also had Mithun Chakraborthy, Govind Namdev and late actor Om Puri playing important roles in the film.
OMG 2 will also have Yami Gautam and Arun Govil playing important roles. The film is expected to have a box office clash with Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2. Earlier Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal was also expected to be released on the same date but then the makers delayed its release to December. It will be interesting for the audience to see Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi contemplating ideas in OMG 2.
