Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released in theatres on July 28, 2023. After a long time Karan Johar has returned to direction and has already managed to enter the Rs. 100 crore club at the domestic box office. Reports say that the film has managed to collect Rs. 105 crores at the box office. The report has also mentioned that the film collected Rs. 13.50 crores in India on the tenth day of its release.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani collected Rs. 73.33 crores in one week and now the total collection in India stands at Rs. 105 crores. The film has been bank rolled by Dharma Productions and helmed by Karan Johar. The story of the film is about a couple who are madly in love with each other but come from different cultures apart from social backgrounds. Director and producer Karan Johar while talking in an interview revealed that Alia Bhatt got married twice in a week. Alia shot for a wedding sequence in just three days after her wedding. In this way, the actress got married twice in a week – one was a real one and the other was a reel one.
The film has a huge cast and a number of other celebrities including Varun Dhawan, Ananya Pandey, Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen playing a cameo. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the film features Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Dharmendra, Aamir Bashir, Churni Ganguli and Kshitee Jog.
For Karan Johar, the filmmaker returned to direction after 2016 when he made Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film faced a few delays due to Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy. The film has so far got a number of positive reviews and was made under the budget of Rs. 160 crores. The music for the film has been composed by Pritam while the lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
