Bollywood Garam: The actress who had always walked the ramp in elegant saris, for the first time was seen wearing a traditional Indian Ghagara on the ramp at the Delhi Couture Week. Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore was the show stopper for designers Ashima and Leena – who had made her wear the traditional outfit.

The 64-year-old was seen wearing a traditional ‘awadh Ghagara’ or also known as ‘Lehenga’ along with a netted jacket while she walked to the tunes of the soulful track of ‘Shukran Allah’ from the movie ‘Kurbaan’.
Sharmila said that she had not worn such an outfit and it was the designers Ashima and Leena who had convinced her to wear the traditional outfit.

The ‘Amar Prem’ actress had even confessed that she was initially skeptical about the fabric that was being used as it was heavy. Later the actress was convinced when the outfit was ready and felt actually light in it. The designers Ashima and Leena had unveiled their latest collection known as ‘Adaa’, which was inspired by the clothing style of Zenana woman.

Ashima and Leena had showed off some of the rich robes, which had included hand embroideries and silhouettes. The collection had also displayed the rich cultural history in terms of Indian wearing.
