The day when the first trailer of the movie The Dirty Picture was revealed, the same day the shooting of an item song for the movie was flagged off. The shooting began in Film City in Mumbai with a lavish set which had plenty of south potboilers of the 80s.
The whole set had plenty of chandeliers along with glitzy props. The whole set for the song has reportedly cost the producer about a crore.
The item number is one of the main attractions of the movie and will be featured after the interval. The item number will have the hot Vidya Balan , who plays the role of Silk Smitha, an aspiring actress.
The set up of the song has been made to look like a competitive song situation with another dancer-actor, which will be played by a new actor. The song will end with Vidya becoming a star in the role of Silk Smitha. In the whole song, Vidya will be wearing the same outfit, which is a sexy gown. The song has been choreographed by Pony Verma, who has said that the actress has rehearsed hard for the song. Pony had also said that she had watched many songs of Silk Smitha and found that she wasn’t a great dancer.
