Veteran actor Dev Anand, known for his happy go lucky nature and his glorious films in the past, on Sunday died of cardiac arrest. The actor was in London along with his son Sunil, when he found his father unresponsive.
According to the manager of the actor, Mohan Churiwala, Sunil came out of the bathroom and saw his father lying unresponsive. The doctors were then immediately called, who informed that he had a cardiac arrest.
The actor breathed his last at 10 pm in London. The last rites of the actor will only be performed next week as the daughter of the actor is yet to arrive, informed Churiwala. The body of Dev Saab has been kept in a hospital in London.
Anand has been a part of Bollywood since 65 years and contributed with some of the classic hits like ‘Gambler’, ‘Jewel Thief’, ‘Guide’, ‘Hum Dono’, ‘Tere Ghar Ke Saamne’ and ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. In the year 2001 the actor was honored with Padma Bhushan. This year, the 88 year old even managed to write, direct and produce a movie, ‘Chargesheet’ which released recently. The movie was based on the mystery surrounding the late actress Divya Bharti. The death of the veteran is mourned by the whole industry.
