See all the looks from the runway from the Indigene Collection, presented on Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 –
Indigene by Jaya Bhatt and Ruchi Tripathi presented their inspired collection named Modest Luxuries on LFW SR 2017 Day 2, February 2, 2017. The collection is inspired by the Japanese Boro textiles which feature patched and mended fabrics and comes from the ideaology of no wastage.
Their collection uses different textiles including Khadi and linen. The fabrics range from being dyed, textured, hand printed and are put together through patches and panels, embellished with re-purposed fabric cut-outs, re-enforced with dense hand stitches to create surface textures.
This will be the designer duo’s second time at LFW. Their collection for LFW Summer/Resort 2017 features simple, yes stylish silhouettes with fine detailing. It’s an effort towards promoting conscious and meaningful fashion, in the mainstream.
