Harsh Meswani launches his book, ‘The Torchbearers – Keeping the flame of Indian classical music alive’
Superstar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, along with Nita Ambani launched Harsh Meswani’s debut book, ‘The Torchbearers – Keeping the flame of Indian classical music alive’ at an event in Mumbai on February 18, 2017. Harsh is the son of Hital Meswani, the executive director at Reliance and a cousin of the Ambani’s.
Nita looked splendid in a pink outfit by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla while Mr. Bachchan appeared in a white kurta pyjama and a traditional jacket. Harsh trained in classical as well as rock music from a very young age and is known for his compositions, Unchartered Territory and Solitude. Amitabh attended the book launch due to his profound interest for music and to support Harsh on his debut venture as an author.
Amitabh has in his career, lent his voice for some of the note-worthy songs including ‘Rang Barse’, ‘Atarangi Yaari’, ‘Main Yahan Tu Wahan’, ‘Ekla Chalo’ and others. The actor was last seen in the movie ‘Pink’ which received appreciation from the audience as well as the critics. Amitabh is currently working for his upcoming movie ‘Sarkar 3’ directed by Ram Gopal Varma and also features Yami Gautam, Manoj Bajpayee and Ronit Roy.
The actor was courteous with paparazzi and posed for the shutterbugs. The event was attended by a limited number of people who are more in tune with Bollywood classics. Nita Ambani is also known to be an aficionado of the arts, and has contributed part of her vast wealth for artistic causes in India. Arts may be slowing down in this fast-paced world, but tomes like these will help to keep them up for longer.
