Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar along with Vikram Pawah, the BMW India President, launched the new business series sedan BMW 5 Series at a grand event in Mumbai on June 29, 2017. The launch event also saw the presence of some of the Bollywood stars including Malaika Arora, Esha Gupta, Neha Dhupia and others.
Tendulkar, during the launch event said, “I loved driving the new 5 Series in London, especially its muscular looks and the intelligence. Features like gesture control and the touchscreen key are mesmerising and even my kids were amused by the sheer technology this new car offers.” Esha, for the launch event, was seen in a golden skirt and a bralet, while Neha made a stylish appearance in a black jumpsuit and accessories.
The new BMW has been launched to compete with the new Mercedes Benz E Class, the Jaguar XF, the Audi A6, Lexus ES and the Volvo S90. The BMW 5 Series has been priced from Rs. 49.9 lakhs to Rs. 61.3 lakhs. Pawah, during the launch, revealed that the prices will be effective from July 1, 2017, according to GST.
