Superstar Salman Khan is already known for having a big heart and has always stepped up to help the less privileged. While the entire nation is struggling with a crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Dabangg star has come forward and has pledged to help about 25,000 daily wage workers from the film industry who have been left with no work. The announcement was made by the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE). The FWICE president B.N. Tiwari said that the actor through his Being Human Foundation has reached out to their organization to help the workers.
Tiwari informed that the foundation had called them about three days back and the organization has informed that they have about 5 lakh workers out of which 25,000 are facing acute financial crisis. The Being Human Foundation then said that they will be taking care of these workers and have also asked for the account details of the 25,000 workers as they wish to ensure that the money reaches them directly.
Not just Salman Khan, Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan has also pledged to help the technicians from the Bhojpuri film industry and is donating grains and essentials to the needy. Akshay Kumar also pledged to contribute Rs. 25 crores to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s coronavirus relief fund.
Many other celebrities from the film industry have come forward to provide relief in the time of crisis.
