Bhindi Baazaar Inc.’s ‘Mamu’ character opposed by social worker

Bollywood Garam: Bollywood movies have always been a victim of some controversy or another. Upcoming movie ‘Bhindi Baazaar Inc.’, is also roped in a controversy due to one of its characters in the movie.

The movie talks about two gangs of pick pocketers, out of which one of the gangs is headed by a character called ‘Mamu’. A social worker from south Mumbai has raised his voice against the character by saying that it would affect his image in a bad sense.

Khalid Mammoo is a resident of Colaba area in Mumbai, India and is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party. Mammoo is a popular social worker and is also the national president of the All India Human Rights Bureau.

Khalid has threatened that he would file a legal suite against the makers of the movie and has also demanded to change the name of the character. Mammo, while defending himself, has said that the name ‘Mamu’ is associated with social work and the movie has portrayed the character of a don. The social worker has said that the movie will affect his image. Meanwhile, producer Karan Arora says that it is just a publicity stunt and he would take action against all those who try to damage the movie.
