Ranbir Kapoor talks about Virtual Reality at launch event in Noida
Bollywood actor and Gen Y poster boy, Ranbir Kapoor was present at the launch of India’s first HP Virtual Reality lounge in Noida on March 20, 2017. The motive is to bring immersive and interactive content for the customers. The VR lounge is an initiative by multiplex giant PVR Cinemas in association with HP India. The new facility is located at the PVR ECX mall at Noida.
The customers who buy a movie ticket at PVR ECX will be able to explore interactive and adventurous content from genres like fiction, drama, science, horror – imagination is unlimited! Ranbir Kapoor, at the launch event cut the inaugural ribbon and said, “It is a mind-blowing experience to go through the VR experience. But being an actor, I fear that it might take away audiences from movie theatres as they may get hooked to the VR experience”.
Gautam Dutta, the CEO of PVR Cinemas then assured those present that since the VR experience lasts for just 15-20 minutes, it will not take away the audience from movie watching.
This is not the first time that India has pioneered an amazing theatrical experience in Asia. Years ago, Mumbai saw the launch of the first dome theatre that left viewers in awe of the experience of being able to watch anything at a 180 degree angle. It seems that the Virtual Reality lounge will screen special movies and documentaries meant for such a technologically advanced viewing, and not just regular Bollywood movies.
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016 and is currently looking forward for some of his upcoming projects like Jagga Jasoos, Dragon and Dutt.
