The topic of discussion at FICCI Frames 2017 was the issue of censorship
Top celebrities from Bollywood were snapped attending the FICCI Frames 2017 event held Mumbai on March 22, 2017. The first day of the event had an inaugural session at a media press conference and saw the attendance of Uday Shankar, Star India Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Shankar is also the chairman of FICCI’s Media and Entertainment Committee.
The first day of the event raised the issue of censorship and the hindrance caused over the growth of the creative talent in the country. The 18th edition of FICCI Frames saw the presence of Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez, television mogul Ekta Kapoor, newsman Arnab Goswami, Dipa Mehta and others.
Jacqueline Fernandez looked splendid in a yellow sari with a cold shoulder blouse and a dazzling smile. Meanwhile, saas-bahu queen Ekta Kapoor appeared in a black LBD.
The event also saw lead actor Akash Thosar and director Nagraj Manjule of the Marathi blockbuster flick Sairat.
Various issues regarding censorship were raised for many Bollywood movies. One of the movies was Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Udta Punjab that threw light on the prominent drug problem in the state of Punjab. The panel had demanded about 80 cuts, but the movie managed to make its way to the silver screen even after censorship was imposed.
We still do not know what the resolution to the censorship matter is, but it is great that a number of prominent figures from different influential avenues like the media, television and film were present to make their concerns heard.
