Policewomen play audience to the premiere of Naam Shabana in Delhi
Monday was for sure a great day to report to work. At least for the women officers of Delhi Police. Those chosen few from Connaught Place division in Delhi were entertained with a special screening of action flick, Naam Shabana. And in attendance were none other than the stars themselves – lead actor Taapsee Pannu, Manoj Bajpayee and of course, Akshay Kumar, who makes a cameo appearance in the film.
At least a hundred women police officers were invited for the special screening of Naam Shabana. Coming together from different ranks within the police division, they sat together to watch the action flick at a local multiplex. Apart from the shutterbugs’ flashing cameras, the policewomen were more than happy to click selfies with the entire cast, though Akshay Kumar was their favorite! Later, the actor posted to his Twitter account, saying: “Enjoyed my 1st screening of #NaamShabana last night with these Brave Female Police Officers of Delhi #NothingButRespect.”

Naam Shabana is a film about a tough secret agent, played by Taapsee Pannu. In the film, the actress has pulled all the stops to do most of her stunts. Her gruelling practice included learning mixed martial arts and Judo to be able to compete with the real-life training of women in the armed forces. Naam Shabana is a prequel to the hit 2015 movie, Baby that also starred Akshay Kumar. The film will go down memory lane into the life of Taapsee’s on-screen character, exploring the journey that made her into the special agent she became. For this one though, Akshay will only be making a cameo appearance, yet he is around to help promote the film using his star power.
Naam Shabana is directed by Shivam Nair and stars Taapsee Pannu and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles. The action flick will release in national theatres on March 31, 2017.
