Winners of the 64th National Film Awards attend ceremony with friends and family

Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna make a dazzling appearance at the 64th National Film Awards ceremony in the capital

Stars from Bollywood descended to Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi for the prestigious 64th National Film Awards 2017 ceremony on April 3, 2017. Celebrities turned up for the event and also brought along their near and dear ones. Actress Sonam Kapoor turned up for the ceremony with father Anil Kapoor, mother Sunita Kapoor and rumoured partner Anand Ahuja. Sonam’s movie Neerja won two awards, Best Feature Film in Hindi and a Special Mention for Sonam, who played the lead role.

Sonam looked gorgeous in a pistachio green sari with kundan jewellery with her hair tied in a neat bun with a gajra. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor was seen in a black bandhgala outfit. Actor Akshay Kumar attended the ceremony with wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav. The Holiday star looked splendid in a black outfit while wife Twinkle wore a traditional checked sari with heavy jhumkas.

Kumar won the Best Actor award for his performance in the movie Rustom. The Khiladi actor even Tweeted a picture with his family as they were ready for the much awaited ceremony and wrote, “An important day in my life with the most important people in the world to me, my family. National Film Awards”. The audience cheered and stood up as Akshay received his first National award.

All the winners of National Film Awards received the honor by the hands of President Pranab Mukherjee. The south film industry claimed a total of 18 awards in different categories. The ceremony also saw the presence of Manoj Joshi, Madhur Bhandarkar, Boman Irani, Zaira Wasim and others.
