Huma Qureshi and filmmaker Gurinder Chadha launched the trailer and poster of their upcoming film Partition: 1947 at an event in Mumbai on June 29, 2017. The launch event also saw the presence of Arunoday Singh and others.
With the launch of the trailer, the video has already garnered three lakh views in a day. As the name suggests, the story is about the painful partition and the struggles during the partition which led to a humanitarian disaster. The trailer has indicated the actual reason and the conspiracy behind the partition and how British rulers have been placed on the positive side of the story.
Huma, during the launch event said, “Everyone is related to the partition through the experiences of their parents or grandparents and the moment you hear this word ‘partition,’ there comes an emotional connect.” The film is directed by Gurinder Chadha and music has been composed by the Academy award winner A R Rahman. Partition: 1947 is ready to be released in theatres on August 18, 2017.
