Pankaj Udhas, Rekha Bharadwaj, and others were spotted rehearsing for Khazana Ghazal Festival 2017. The festival is an annual affair organized by famous singer Padmashri Pankaj Udhas and all the proceeds from this festival go towards the treatment of patients affected by cancer and thalassemia. Khazana Ghazal Festival 2017 was held at the Oberoi Trident Hotel at Nariman Point in Mumbai from July 22 – 23. This year will also mark the 15 anniversary of the Khazana Ghazal Festival as it started off in 2002.
Talking about the ghazal festival, popular singer Rekha Bhardwaj says that the popularity of ghazals is increasing and that it will never fade away, despite people’s interest in western music. This year Rekha Bharadwaj will be presenting her collection of ghazals titled Irshaad in collaboration with other well-known singers, at the festival.
Other singers who will be participating in the two day long festival include, Papon, Bhupinder Singh and Mitali Singh, Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz, Suresh Wadkar, Ahmed Hussain and Mohammed Hussain, Padmashri Anuradha Paudwal and Kavita Paudwal, Penaz Masani,Rajkumar Rizvi, Neha Rizvi and Runa Rizvi Sivamani, Sudeep Banerjee, Sraboni Chaudhuri, Amrita Chatterjee, Shruti Pathak, Pooja Gaitonde, Alap Desai and Sumeet Tappoo.
