Indian actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8, 2020 by the NCB on charges of procuring drugs. The Mere Dad Ki Maruti actress was has been sent for a 14 day judicial custody and has been lodged at the Byculla Jail. The cell where she is lodged is in the general barracks of the ground floor and is similar to the cell where Indrani Mukerjea was lodged since 2016.
Mukerjia is the prime accused in the in famous Sheena Bora case and Rhea has been kept near a cell of Indrani. The actress was earlier placed in a general barrack but was shifted due to security reasons. Reports say that her dinner included rice lentils, Indian bread and vegetables. Apart from Rhea, her brother Showik, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda have also been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
The lawyers of Rhea and Showick have moved to the sessions court as they have applied for a bail and the hearing of it will be heard on September 10, 2020. Some of the recent reports have said that she has retracted from her earlier confessions in connection to drugs and has also alleged that the NCB officials had forced her in to making them.
Rhea Chakraborty has been in news ever since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and has been facing a constant backlash from the fans and family members of Sushant.
