Naatu Naatu song from RRR to be performed at Academy Awards

Indian drama flick RRR starring NTR Jr. and Ram Charan proved to be a blockbuster at the box office. The song Naatu Naatu from the film directed by S.S. Rajamouli had also become one of the blockbusters of 2022 and now has been nominated at the 95th Academy Awards. Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will be performing at the Academy Awards which is due to be held on March 12, 2023. For now there are no reports of Ram Charana and NTR Jr. would be joining them on the stage.

The lyrics for the song has been penned down by Chandrabose and the music has been composed by Keeravani. As of now singers Rahil and Kaala are ready to rock the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The song was released as Naacho Naacho in Hindi, Naattu Koothu in Tamil, Halli Naatu in Kannada and Karinthol in Malayalam.

Not many are aware that the song was shot at the Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv, just a few months before the Russian military invasion in Ukraine. The song has now become a viral sensation and has managed to get more than 122 million views on YouTube. The film also has Alia Bhatt, who had performed on the song in a white saree at an awards event.

Naatu Naatu song is not new to among the awards. In January, 2023 the song won a Golden Globe Award for the Best Original Song Category. It again won the Best Song award for the 28th Edition of the Critics Choice Awards. Talking about the Academy Awards, the song will be pitched against This is a Life from Everything Everywhere All At Once, Lift Me up from Black Panther and Applause from Tell it Like a Woman amongst others. The 95th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Singer Rihanna is expected to perform Lift Me Up while Stephanie Hsu and son Lux apart from David Byrne are also expected to take the stage.
