Indian film producer and singer Pamela Chopra passed away due to prolonged age-related illness at Lilawati Hospital, Mumbai on April 20, 2023. The actress who recently appeared in the OTT series The Romantics, breathed her last at the age of 74. The Chopra family released an official statement and added that her cremation took place at 11 am.

Pamela is survived by sons Aditya and Uday Chopra. Soon after the news broke, condolences started to pour in on the internet. Reports say that the singer was admitted at the hospital since the past 15 days and was also placed on a ventilator for assisted breathing by the doctors. However, her health continued to deteriorate.

The Chopra family through the statement has requested for privacy at this moment of sadness. Pamela was last seen in the documentary The Romantics where she was seen talking about her husband Yash Chopra and his style of making films. The series not just focused on the contributions made by Yash Chopra towards Hindi cinema but also showed her contributions towards the industry.

Pamela Chopra and Yash Chopra got married in the year 1970 in a traditional ceremony. It was an arranged marriage and the families had met through a common friend. Together they have two sons Aditya and Uday. Elder son Aditya is married to actress Rani Mukerji. Yash Chopra passed away at the age of 80 in the year 2012. Not Many knew that Pamela had also sung a number of songs for a number of films including Kaala Patthar, Silsila, Kabhie Kabhie, Chandni, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge. Mrs. Chopra has also been credited as a writer for the film Kabhie Kabhie. In the year 1997 she also wrote the script for the film Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Pamela also worked as a dress designer for the films Silsila and Sawaal.
