Bollywood Garam: Close on the heels of Minissha Lamba’s undeclared goods issue, yet snother Bollywood actress has experienced the interrogations of the customs authorities at the Mumbai International Airport. ‘Raaz’ actress Bipasha Basu was reportedly carrying objects that were not declared before travelling and was held by the airport authorities on Thursday.
Airport authorities state that the actress was carrying valuables that were more than what she had declared before travelling. But unlike Lamba’s case, the actress was allowed to leave after paying some taxes .
The newly single actress said that it was just a routine check up and many others were checked too. Bipasha said that she just had clothes in her bag, which had become excess baggage for which she was stopped. The ‘New York’ actress had to pay an amount of around Rs. 12,000 to the customs as taxes.
Bips even added that the customs officials were doing a great job. Bipasha was stopped at the green channel, when her baggage was being scanned. The actress was asked to make an inventory of the things that she had carried, after landing from London and getting done with loads of shopping.
Earlier, actress Minisha Lamba was detained for carrying undeclared jewellery worth Rs. 40 lakhs. Lamba was detained for several hours and was questioned by the customs officials at the Mumbai International airport, till her sponsors arrived with the required documents.
Looks like Mumbai’s Airport officials are not showing any partiality to travellers, even if it means their celebs!
