Bollywood Garam: After Bollywood actresses Minissha Lamba and Bipasha Basu, Mallika Sherawat’s brother Vikram Lamba was the next culprit, who was caught at Mumbai Airport. Lamba was detained by the customs officials at the airport for carrying undeclared foreign currency.
Vikram was returning from London via Dubai on an Emirates flight. The actress’ brother was caught when he was passing the green channel at the airport.
Lamba was detained and interrogated by the customs officials, as he was found carrying some goods that were dutiable and some foreign currency that was beyond the permissible limits. Customs official Sameer Wankhede had interrogated Lamba at the airport after he was detained.
Celebrities are constantly falling in the radar of the customs officials for allegedly carrying foreign goods without declaring them. Actress Minissha Lamba was the first one to be caught by the customs for carrying jewelry above permissible limits. The actress was carrying a necklace in her purse, which she claimed that she had forgot to declare. Later, Bipasha Basu was also fined for carrying goods above permissible limits.
Lamba had co-produced the movie ‘Hisss’ along with sister Mallika. Seems like an awareness program has to be organized for the celebrities in order to avoid such incidences in future.
