Bollywood Garam: Indian music composer Rahul Dev Burman or popularly known as Panchamda, is remembered today on his 72nd birth anniversary. The veteran musician has created some landmark music for the Indian film industry.
Burman started off his compositions with the movie ‘Chhote Nawab’ in the year 1961 and then never looked back. Panchamda then continued to give several hits for the Indian film industry which included the popular tracks like ‘Mehbooba’ from the movie ‘Sholay’, ‘Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja’ from the movie ‘Caravan’, ‘Rana Beeti Jaye’ from the movie ‘Amar Prem’ and ‘Raat Kali’ from the movie ‘Buddha Mil Gaya’.
Pritam Chakrborty while talking about Burman said that he has been an inspiration to him as well as many musicians in the industry. Chakraborty added that Burman was the one who had brought a revolution in the Indian music industry.
Actress Hema Malini said that she used to be busy shooting when Burman was active. Though the actress could not interact much with the popular musician the actress said that she loves to hear some of his amazing works. Panchamda died on 4th January 1994.
