Singham rules the box office over the weekend


Bollywood Garam: Despite certain objections over the content of the movie ‘Singham’, the audience has definitely got a catch of it. The latest Bollywood movie starring Ajay Devgn and Bollywood debutant Kajal Agarwal, has marked its place already at the box office.

Despite some objection, Singham has managed to shine at the box office and has become the second biggest opener after the Salman Khan starrer movie ‘Ready’. The movie was banned in some of the theatres of the state of Karnataka due to some of the objectionable dialogues.

The objectionable dialogues were later removed from the prints of the movie. On Friday, the movie had collected Rs 9.03 crores and on Saturday the collection rose to Rs 9.67 crores and had peaked to Rs. 12.37 on Sunday.

On an aggregate, the Singham made Rs. 31 crores collection the whole weekend. This has made it the second best opener of the year after ‘Ready’. ‘Singham wasn’t much appreciated by the critics but had managed to rule the audience’s heart. The other movie released over the week ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is also doing well at the box office. The first week of its releases had collected Rs. 45 crores and is also expected to hit the Rs 70 crore mark in the second week.
