Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been recently approached to be the face of the Indian badminton. The actress has been approached to be a part of the motivational campaign for the Indian badminton players who are going to participate at the Olympics 2012.
The Sports Development Corporation has opined that Deepika Padukone would be the perfect face for the job as they are looking for a well known face that people can look up to. Padukone herself has been a badminton player and has played up to the state level.
The fact that Deepika has been associated with the sport and also that the actress has achieved so much at a young age would be motivational factor for the new players. The management team of the actress has confirmed that Deepika has been approached for the campaign and that they are currently working out for the appropriate dates.
When spoken to Deepika the actress also confirmed and said that sports continues to be her first love and that she would love to do any campaign that would encourage people to take up sports in the country. Padukone is reportedly also the member of the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ). This is an organization that is dedicated to train the Indian athletes.
