The much awaited action thriller movie ‘Players’ by film makers Abbas and Mustan has been released on January 5, 2012. The multi starrer movie is an official remake of ‘The Italian Job’, but the makers beg to differ and claim that it has its own Desi version.

The story is about Charlie played by Abhishek Bachchan and Victor Dada played by Vinod Khanna, who have a common dream to open an educational institution for the people who cannot afford education. Charlie plans a robbery of gold, which is being transferred from Russia to Romania, along with Victor.

The duo also hires a team , Riya played by Bipasha Basu, Ronnie played by Bobby Deol, Spider played by Neil Nitin Mukesh, Bilal played by Sikander Kher and Sunny played by Omi Vaidya. All of them are masters in their own skills.

Technologically speaking, the movie is quite well advanced than the Hollywood flick, but the original movie is rich in terms of content. The actors have given their best but at times it feels as if their talent was wasted. The movie also has certain similarities with the earlier flick ‘Race’ by the same directors. Over all, a good attempt by the makes which could have been better.
