BollywoodGaram.com: Bollywood has lost yet another legend. Rajesh Khanna, dubbed as ‘India’s first ever superstar’, passed away in his Mumbai residence on July 18, 2012. The cremation will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2012.
The Aradhana actor was in and out of Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital for the past month where he was getting treated for an illness.
Khanna rose to stardom in the 1960s, when he made his debut in 1966 in ‘Aakhri Khat’ after being crowned as the winner of a talent hunt contest. His career skyrocketed with the launch of his movies, Raaz, Baharon Ke Sapne, Aurat and the famous movie ‘Aradhana’ with actress Sharmila Tagore.
He married actress Dimple Kapadia in 1973 and has two children actress Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna.
His son-in-law, ‘Khiladi’ actor Akhshay Kumar announced Khanna’s demise on Wednesday afternoon and said that he has gone to a very nice place.
