Finally, the female lead of the upcoming Rohit Shetty movie, ‘Chennai Express’ has been finalized. After finalizing Shahrukh Khan as the main lead the makers have roped in the tall beauty Deepika Padukone.
Sources from the production unit have said that Deepika is now a part of the movie and has been finalized. The last time the actress was seen opposite Shahrukh was in the movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ by Farah Khan, which also marked her debut in Bollywood.
In recent times, plenty of names like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra were considered for the role. The Rohit Shetty movie is about to go on floors by the end of September 2012 and is expected to be released next year.
‘Chennai Express’ is a movie which will narrate the story of a man played by Shahrukh, who travels from Mumbai to Rameshwaram. The flick tells what happens to the man on his journey. The most interesting part is that this is the first time the film maker will be working without his close friend like Ajay Devgn, with whom he has done about eight movies. This will also be the first time Shetty will be teaming up with Shahrukh and Deepika.
