Popular celebrity designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla on August 18, 2012 launched their book ‘India Fantastique’at an event at industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan who also attended the event said that he was overwhelmed by the “sea of Indian celebration”.
The 69 year old veteran actor added, “Above all the magnificence, the one factor that has made it most attractive has been the Indian-ness in every breath that one took. From the mogras to the dresses of the models, right down to the ladies and gents in the guest list, it has been a sea of Indian celebration. And for this, I am most proud”. The launch of the book also marked their silver jubilee in the world of fashion.
Jani and Khosla are known for reviving the ancient Indian art of chikan and zardosi. Big B also gave an insight in to the book on his blog which said, “The colour, the finesse of their designs, the intricacy of their workmanship, the quality of the material and its appropriate positioning, all have been put together over the years in matchless dimensions inside this exquisite book.”
The event was hosted by Mukesh Ambani and wife Neeta Ambani, while Amitabh said that it was a memorable evening.
